Vet paperwork is not written for your future self. It is written for a visit, a billing system, a clinic workflow, or a discharge moment. Weeks later, you may only need one detail from it: the vaccine date, the medication instruction, the weight, or the follow-up note.

Smart Scan is MyPetVault's way of making those documents easier to turn into useful records inside the mobile app, with less typing and a review step before anything is saved.

Step 1: Upload the document

You can upload a pet document into your vault, such as a vaccine record, rabies certificate, visit summary, medication instruction, or other supported vet paperwork. The original file stays available so you can always go back to the source.

Step 2: Smart Scan helps pull out useful details

When details are visible in the document, Smart Scan can help extract information such as vaccines, rabies details, medications, visits, weights, dates, and related health information. It is meant to reduce typing and help you organize what is already on the paper.

It is not medical advice. It does not diagnose, treat, recommend medication, or decide what the record means for your pet's care.

Step 3: You review before saving

This is the important part. MyPetVault does not silently turn a scan into a permanent record without you. The Smart Wizard shows what was found so you can confirm, adjust, or skip each item before saving it under the right pet.

That review step is there on purpose. A record is only useful if you trust it when you need it later.

What Smart Scan is best for

Smart Scan is most helpful when you have paperwork with specific details you do not want to retype: vaccines, rabies dates, medication names and instructions, visit dates, weights, and clinic information. It turns paper into something searchable and easier to share.
